Case Study: Adult ADHD

Mr D presented to our clinic in a state of crisis. He had just lost his job, and he had been disqualified from driving for 2 years, following multiple motoring offences. In addition, his wife had asked him to leave the family home due to his persistent illicit drug use. At his first consultation he explained that he had been suffering from behavioural problems since his childhood, including poor concentration, impulsivity and social communication difficulties. He resented his family, as they had dismissed him as being “just a bad lad”, although they urged him to seek medical help.
